Thrivability Camp

a weave of inspired theory, pioneering stories, playful co-creation and emergent learning.

December 8-10, 2021

Welcome reader

Would you take a moment to answer this: how do you feel?

We have imagined spending 2½ days together in a Mediterranean villa in Spain, in the embrace of Nature, to learn from each other, experience embodied practices, listen to stories of the new, and make sense of this unique moment in our history, when so much is at stake and so much is possible. We cherish such moments. They make a difference.

How does this feel?

If this resonates with you, you are invited to join us,

Michelle and Stelio

Worth exploring

There are stories that change who we are. Those stories are always co-created, and they are alive. In 2½ days, lightly facilitated by Michelle and Stelio, we’ll share, explore and weave our stories together, in search of answers to some key questions, like:

What happens when deep immersion in living systems principles is combined with the pioneering practice of self-organizing emergence? What new insights are revealed? What new pathways to action become clear?

And what does the context of this moment have to teach us — and what does it call for?

The entire world retreated into a cocoon in 2020. As challenging as it was, there was a sense of unity within that restrictive time. For many of us, there was a new level of connection with all of life. But in 2021, as we started to emerge from the cocoon, things started to get messy (as they do, in that stage of the process). Some want to go back to the way it was before. Many resist the changes that seem to be coming. After a year of unity, we now find ourselves more divided than ever, at exactly the moment when we most need to come together.

So what can we do about it?

At Thrivability Camp (T-Camp, for short), we will explore:

  • How would our lives look different if we embraced another, more life-aligned worldview?
  • What if our projects and organizations could be a practice ground for a more thrivable world?
  • Can we influence existing systems? Work? School? Our own families? Or is it only possible to build the new?
  • Who else is in this work, and what can we learn from their stories, and our own?
  • What tools for better knowing and action can we use?

This is work at the edge. Arundhati Roy assures us that “another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.” Together, we will attune ourselves to the rhythm of this breath and sense what we are called to notice and to do.

How to join us

The T-Camp will take place in Barcelona, Spain. It will start at 3pm on Dec 8th and end at 7pm on Dec 10th. It is meant to be a non-stop flow of being together, including evenings. Nevertheless, we have reserved a few seats that do *not* include sleeping in the same venue with us for those who have other accommodations.  The venue is a 16th-century farmhouse, located in Sant Pere de Ribes within the Garraf Natural Park (https://www.canramonet.com). It has 13 double rooms available, each with a private bathroom. You will be able to choose to book an entire room, OR a bed in a shared (double) room. The following prices are related to each of those options. They are the venue prices; we are not going to retain any fee on your bookings.
  • Full double room, for the 2 nights (meals not included): EUR 250€ + IVA
  • Bed in a double room shared with another person, for the 2 nights (meals not included): EUR 120+ IVA

We will send you instructions for executing your lodging payment after you buy your ticket for the camp, and according to the lodging choice you will express. Please see the tickets section further down in this page.

As for the price of the T-Camp itself, we’re offering this through the mutual practice of generosity. We offer it to you in a spirit of generosity. And in place of a set fee, you will be invited at the end of our time together to contribute whatever feels generous to you based on how the experience helped you, how it benefits the world and your unique circumstances. However, to secure your place and signal your intention to join our journey, we ask for an initial transfer of 100 EUR to ensure the core costs are covered.

The maximum number of participants is set to 30. Please, secure your participation as soon as possible

I am learning tremendously from the presentations, I want to hear even more from Paul, Pete and Stu, we are just scratching the surface! and the discussions are very interesting too because of the range of experiences and perspectives.
I've enjoyed all the episodes attended so far. Each one builds on the next, but could be attended individually and still make sense. The facilitators work well together and Emanuele's hosting is excellent. There's also lots of audience participation, plus the topics discussed are relevant and practical
