Series Overview

How a Special Agent Dealt with Racism.

Special Agent Lloyd Miner (Rico) is a highly commended special agent who made the mistake of being black and successful. Jailed by the government for reporting threats to national security, he is now coming forward with his story. The investigative reporter who originally broke his story described what happened to him as racism, abuse of authority and evil. This stands in contrast to the respect he gained on the street as Aldea Lobo, the wolf and gang guy who swooped in off the street to arrest violent criminals, foreign nationals.

Nothing about racism is black and white.

In the first series, join raconteur Raphael (Rico) David and Dawna Jones in this series covering five anecdotes followed by an open mic discussion. Participate in a conscious conversation about law enforcement, racism, and how we can collectively move beyond the color of one’s skin to restore humanity to society. The first series focuses on injustice and racism in the street and in law enforcement workspaces.

Note: Subsequent series will cover other aspects of Rico’s law enforcement career. This series focuses on racism.

What participants say

I am learning tremendously from the presentations, I want to hear even more from Paul, Pete and Stu, we are just scratching the surface! and the discussions are very interesting too because of the range of experiences and perspectives.
I've enjoyed all the episodes attended so far. Each one builds on the next, but could be attended individually and still make sense. The facilitators work well together and Emanuele's hosting is excellent. There's also lots of audience participation, plus the topics discussed are relevant and practical
